Job summary

CoorsTek is seeking a Kiln/Furnace Tech I to maintain kiln performance and perform loading/unloading tasks. The role involves documenting operations, monitoring readings, and adjusting firing schedules to meet specifications.

You will restart kilns after outages, perform basic maintenance, and collaborate with a diverse team. High school diploma or GED, and at least 6 months of manufacturing experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 months manufacturing/work experience.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Forklift certification as required by department or facility.
• Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document kiln and/or furnace operations following approved work instructions.
• Take readings and maintain firing within specifications.
• Monitor and adjust push timing using computer software as required.
• Restart kilns/furnaces after outages or surges.
• Perform routine basic maintenance on kilns/furnaces.
• Correct firing issues and notify appropriate personnel.
• Load and unload product as needed (up to 80%).
• Rebuild kiln cars including bricks, wheels, and bearings as needed.
• Track kiln/furnace furniture quality and inventories; inspect refractories and components.
• Assist across areas as assigned; work shifts as required.
