Job summary

Michaels is seeking an energetic team member to plan and coordinate in-store events, including children's birthday parties, within our Portland, ME location. You will engage guests, demonstrate crafts, and manage activities to create a fun, safe environment while supporting store objectives.

You will help customers shop, assist with checkout, and promote rewards programs, while handling misc. tasks such as emails, calls, and paperwork to ensure a smooth guest experience.

Qualifications

• Excellent people skills required.
• Experience working with children and managing children’s events.
• Good written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; creative problem solving.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events inside the Michaels store, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes.
• Engage guests of all ages with a fun, safe, and engaging environment.
• Demonstrate projects and assist with party activities; perform face painting and related activities.
