Job summary

Learning Care is seeking a Food Specialist to manage meal preparation for enrolled children. You will create nutritious meals and snacks, distribute food to classrooms, and ensure adherence to USDA and licensing requirements.

The role requires inventory management, ability to follow the school menu, and collaboration with teachers. Flexible hours and a supportive, values-driven environment are provided.

Qualifications

• Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility, preferred.
• A willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
• Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work.

Responsibilities

• Create home-style, nutritional meal plans in the boundaries of the school menu and budget, and prepare meals/snacks for children and staff.
• Follow the daily menu provided by the Director that incorporates USDA, licensing, and health department regulations.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies and order more when needed.
• Assist in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.
