Job summary

KinderCare Learning Companies in Cary, NC is hiring a Cook to prepare healthy meals for children in our centers. You will follow menus developed by our in-house nutritionist, maintain kitchen safety, and ensure meals meet every child’s needs.

Qualifications

• Must love children and be dedicated to making a daily difference.
• Understand food storage, allergy considerations, and cross-contamination avoidance.
• Able to follow menus and prepare meals for the center population.
• Basic math skills for measuring portions.
• Food Handler’s license or willingness to obtain.
• At least one year of institutional cooking experience.
• Two or more years working with children is highly desirable.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and use a computer.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and related equipment safely and hygienically.
• Order food and supplies.
• Dispense and store medication as requested.
• Complete documentation per KinderCare and licensing requirements.
• Assist with other daily center duties as needed.
• Support center goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement.
