Job summary

KinderCare Learning Companies is hiring a Cook to prepare healthy meals for children across our centers. You will follow menus created by our in-house nutritionist, ensuring meals meet dietary needs and fuel learning and growth.

We value a love for children, food safety, accuracy in portioning, and the ability to collaborate with staff to support enrollment and center success. This role is on-site with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Love for children and daily motivation to make a difference.
• Knowledge of food safety, storage, and cross-contamination prevention.
• Ability to follow nutritious menus and prepare meals for many children.
• Basic math for measuring portions and serving sizes.
• Food Handler’s License or willingness to obtain one.
• 1+ year institutional cooking and food ordering experience is desirable.
• 2+ years working with children is desirable.
• Ability to use a computer and lift up to 40 pounds.
• English reading, writing, and speaking proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and related equipment safely and hygienically.
• Order food and supplies as needed.
• Dispense and store medications per regulations when requested.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation per KinderCare and licensing requirements.
• Assist with other daily center duties as needed.
• Support center goals by partnering with staff to drive enrollment, accreditation, and engagement.
