Job summary

KinderCare Learning Companies is hiring a Cook to prepare healthy meals and snacks for children in our centers, following menus developed by our in-house nutritionist. You will help ensure the fuel for children to learn and grow while maintaining a safe kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Love for kids and desire to make a difference every day.
• Familiarity with safe food storage and handling; understand allergy needs.
• Ability to follow nutritious menus and prepare appropriate quantities.
• Basic math for measuring portions.
• Possess a Food Handler’s License or willingness to obtain.
• Experience with institutional cooking and food ordering is desirable.
• Two or more years working with children is highly desirable.
• Must be able to use a computer with basic proficiency and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Read, write, and speak English to communicate with children and parents.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and related equipment safely and hygienically.
• Order food and supplies.
• Dispense and store medications as requested.
• Complete timely documentation according to KinderCare and licensing requirements.
• Assist with daily center duties as needed.
• Support center goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement.
