Job summary

UMOS, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Food Service Assistant to support breakfast, lunch, and snacks for HeadStart children. You will follow approved menus, assist with food preparation, and help maintain a sanitary kitchen.

The role requires 18+, HS diploma or GED preferred, and prior food service experience. You will work on-site with flexible hours and participate in trainings and safety programs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• GED or high school diploma preferred.
• Minimum of three months of food service experience preferred.
• Ability to read and write preferred.
• Must have dependable transportation.
• Ability to work irregular or flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, and snacks per approved menu.
• Clean and sanitize equipment, storage areas, and kitchen per guidelines.
• Assist with inventory and procurement of food items.
• Assist with portioning and distribution to children per age group.
• Support parent engagement activities with meal preparation.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; provide short-term relief when needed.
