Job summary

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a part-time Gymnastics Instructor at Haselwood Family YMCA in Silverdale, WA to teach gymnastics skills to children and promote YMCA core values.

You will develop progressive lesson plans, ensure safety, communicate with parents, track attendance, and support staff in delivering a quality program. Requires six months of teaching gymnastics and a positive attitude; CPR/First Aid preferred.

Qualifications

• Six months or more of experience teaching gymnastics and/or personal gymnastics experience preferred.
• Commitment to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive environment.
• Positive attitude and experience with children of all ages and diverse populations.
• Knowledge and skills to instruct gymnastics and related equipment setup.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans with progression appropriate to age and ability.
• Instruct gymnasts in a safe and fun manner
• Outline class plans to keep children moving
• Enforce safety rules in the gym
• Finish each class with a fun group activity
• Incorporate YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility
• Track class attendance and progress reports
• Communicate with parents and supervisor regarding performance
• Assist staff leadership in campaign-related activities
• Maintain cleaning and sanitation protocols and adhere to PPE requirements
