Job summary

St. Francis Area Schools seeks a Kids Connection Instructor for Cedar Creek Elementary to support morning programs for K-5 students. The role is 7:30am–8:45am, Monday through Friday, with 171 days per year and immediate vacancy.

The position runs as Continuing or Temporary per program needs, with benefits provided for 1020 hours or more per year. The ideal candidate is team-oriented, comfortable with students with challenging behaviors, and has experience in child development and guidance.

Qualifications

• Team-oriented individual comfortable with students who have challenging behaviors.
• Experience or training related to child development, guidance, communication, and activities is desired.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred; CPI certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a supportive learning environment during morning sessions (7:30am-8:45am, Mon-Fri).
• Interact respectfully with students, families, and staff to promote social, physical, and intellectual development.
• Support development and implementation of procedures enabling special needs children to thrive in Kids Connection.
• Maintain safety and assist with behavior interventions as needed.

Salary: $18.50 - $18.87 per hour, depending on qualifications and according to the Unaffiliated Work Agreement

Qualifications: We are looking for a team-oriented individual who is comfortable and experienced in working with students of challenging behaviors.

• Skilled in positive behavior intervention
• 18 years of age or older, required.
• Training and experience related to child development, child guidance, cultural dynamics, communication, and activities is desired.
• Effective communication skills, good interpersonal skills with adults and children.
• Help to establish a physical environment that encourages all children to assume responsibility for developing their social, physical and intellectual skills.
• Participate in the development and implementation of creative and research based procedures for enabling special needs children to thrive at Kids Connection.
• First Aid and CPR Certification, preferred.
