Job summary

Code Ninjas Franklin is hiring a part-time Sensei to coach Ninjas through a self-paced coding curriculum, explain concepts to children, and foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.

You will support platforms like Scratch, JavaScript, Python, Roblox Studio, Unity, Godot, robotics, Minecraft, and AI, and adapt your coaching style to different ages and abilities. Training is provided with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in working with children and helping them succeed.
• Clear, patient, respectful communication skills.
• Dependable transportation and reliable attendance.
• Availability during weekday afternoons/evenings and Saturdays.
• Willingness to learn Code Ninjas curriculum, systems, safety standards, and procedures.
• Ability to pass required reference checks and background screening.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Coach Ninjas through self-paced coding curriculum without simply giving them the answer.
• Help students debug, break problems into smaller steps, and build independent problem-solving skills.
• Explain coding and technology concepts in age-appropriate ways.
• Learn and support platforms such as Scratch, JavaScript, Python, Roblox Studio, Unity, Godot, robotics, Minecraft, and AI.
• Create a positive, inclusive environment that encourages curiosity, resilience, creativity, and confidence.
• Adapt coaching style to different ages, abilities, personalities, and learning needs.
• Follow check-in/check-out, supervision, safety, and incident-reporting procedures.
• Assist with camps, birthday parties, tours, events, and special programs.
• Communicate professionally with students, parents, coworkers, and management.
• Share student progress, concerns, or incidents with the Center Director.
• Participate in required training, meetings, coaching, and feedback.
