Job summary

Code Ninjas Franklin is seeking a friendly part-time Sensei to coach Ninjas through self-paced coding curricula, help students debug, and explain technology concepts in age-appropriate ways.

The position includes paid onboarding, ongoing mentorship, a flexible afternoon/evening and Saturday schedule, opportunities for advancement, and a supportive environment where learners are encouraged to explore and grow.

Qualifications

• At least 15 years old.
• Genuine interest in working with children.
• Clear, patient, respectful communication skills.
• Dependable transportation and reliable attendance.
• Availability during weekday afternoons/evenings and Saturdays.
• Willingness to learn Code Ninjas curriculum, systems, safety standards, and procedures.
• Ability to pass required reference checks and background screening.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Coach Ninjas through self-paced coding curriculum without simply giving them the answer.
• Help students debug, break problems into smaller steps, and build independent problem-solving skills.
• Explain coding and technology concepts in age-appropriate ways.
• Learn and support platforms such as Scratch, JavaScript, Python, Roblox Studio, Unity, Godot, robotics, Minecraft, and AI.
• Create a positive, inclusive environment that encourages curiosity, resilience, creativity, and confidence.
• Adapt your coaching style to different ages, abilities, personalities, and learning needs.
• Follow check-in/check-out, supervision, safety, and incident-reporting procedures.
• Assist with camps, birthday parties, tours, events, and special programs.
• Communicate professionally with students, parents, coworkers, and management.
• Share student progress, concerns, or incidents with the Center Director.
• Participate in required training, meetings, coaching, and feedback.
