Job summary

YMCA of York and York County is seeking a Part-Time Child Watch Attendant to engage children in safe, structured activities while parents focus on their health. You will support daily programs, maintain a welcoming environment, and reflect our core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Responsibilities include supervising children, enforcing safety policies, completing incident reports, and collaborating with staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 8th grade education and 500 documented hours of experience with children.
• Clearances: state police, child abuse, and FBI fingerprint.
• CPR, AED and First Aid certification required.
• Mandated reporter training required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and assists children in activities.
• Practices safety and health policies; guides cleanup routines and bathroom habits.
• Completes required incident reports.
• Practices infection control and hand washing.
• Establishes a child-friendly center and uses appropriate discipline.
• Knows fire and emergency procedures and acts when needed.
• Maintains CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Attends staff meetings and reports concerns.
• Performs janitorial duties and maintains confidentiality.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures.
