Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL seeks a skilled RN transplant coordinator to manage pre- and post-transplant care, organ procurement, and multidisciplinary scheduling. The role emphasizes communication with patients, families, and the transplant team, with leadership expectations and job responsibilities across the transplant continuum.

The position requires 1+ year of leadership and transplant/critical care experience, with preference for teaching/preceptor roles.

Qualifications

Job Description:
  • Coordinates pre-transplant evaluations and assessments.
  • Manages the transplant waiting list and patient status updates.
  • Facilitates communication between patients, families, and the transplant team.
  • Organizes and schedules transplant surgeries and related procedures.
  • Provides education and support to patients and families throughout the transplant process.
  • Monitors post-transplant recovery and follow-up care.
  • Manages donor organ procurement and transportation logistics.
  • Communicates the schedule for stem cell collections/harvest with the dialysis department.
  • Coordinates with the blood bank to facilitate designated donor and pheresis blood products for the patient.
  • Coordinates pre- and post-bone marrow transplant evaluations for the patient and donor, when applicable.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures related to transplant coordination.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
