Port Madison Enterprises seeks a Banquet Captain to lead and ensure flawless execution of all banquet and meeting events at KiANA Lodge. You will oversee staffing, room sets, and coordination with the Event Coordinator and kitchen to maintain high service standards.

The role requires the ability to multi-task, strong leadership, and outstanding customer relations. A high school diploma and relevant banquet experience are required, with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Oversees banquet functions ensuring the utmost in efficiency and service. Strives to create a Clearly Superior Customer Service experience.Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:Ensures smooth, efficient, professional operation of banquet functions by reviewing all room sets prior to each eventCoordinates staffing and inventory levels with the Event Coordinator in an effort to provide excellent customer serviceCommunicates frequently with the function’s meeting planner to ensure all instructions are executed correctlyWorks closely with kitchen to ensure food quality control and presentation standardsPromotes positive customer relations, handles complaints and suggestionsCoordinates the function set-up and break down to include proper placement of furnitureEnsures servers utilize proper placement and removal of entrée/dessert plates, etcSecondary Functions:Reviews all banquet menus and Banquet Event Orders (BEO) with staffAssists in the completion of the post-event recapAssists in the training of banquet wait staffOther duties as assignedSpecific Job Skills:Ability to understand and implement standard operating proceduresReads and evaluates Banquet Event OrdersDevises room sets for smaller functions, including table placement, food locations and décorAbility to demonstrate etiquette in table setting and serviceWindows based computer skills required (Word, Excel)Strong customer skills requiredMust be able to multi-task between functions running simultaneouslyMust demonstrate leadership skills and promote a positive environment for banquet staffEducation and/or Experience:High School diploma or GED required. Prior experience in Banquet Services is required. Must be at least 21 years of age.Job Conditions:Working conditions include working in an office setting with a computer and other equipment. Other conditions include working with the kitchen staff and in the banquet facility. Remains flexible and is able to prioritize multiple tasks on a regular basis. Conditions also include frequent interruptions, working evenings, weekends, and holidaysPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift 50 lbs. while standing, twisting, or bending on a regular or extended period of time. Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment. Manual and finger dexterity for operation of personal computers, adding machine and routine paperwork.
