Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Group in Houston seeks a temporary Keying Specialist to operate and set up key cutting and pinning machinery under supervision. You will assemble locks and prepare orders, ensuring specifications from sales orders are met and maintained in a non-climate controlled warehouse environment.

You will also handle lock/cylinder prep, master keying, packaging, labeling, and keeping accurate records while adhering to safety protocols and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED is required.
• 1-2 years experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is required.
• Retail experience working in a hardware or keying environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up/Operate machines to cut and copy keys.
• Disassemble locks and replace tumblers, springs, and other parts.
• Lock and cylinder preparation, assemble and disassemble locks.
• Master keying function, pinning the key cylinder.
• Package finished products and prepare them for shipment, including labelling.
• Maintain accurate records of company locks and keys.
• Read sales orders to understand customer requirements for keys and locks.
• Maintain, test and adjust equipment as necessary
• Observe and adhere to safety rules and practices.
• Test completed keys to verify conformance to specifications and examine completed work pieces for defects.
