Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions is seeking a Production Keying Specialist I to support the set up and operation of machines for key cutting, keying, and lock assembly per sales orders.

You will work under supervision in a non-climate-controlled warehouse, following safety rules and contributing to accurate records and timely shipments.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Excellent hand/eye coordination with the ability to handle small parts.
• Retail experience in hardware or keying environment is a plus.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Normal warehouse conditions with PPE adherence.

Responsibilities

• Set up/Operate machines to cut and copy keys.
• Disassemble locks and replace components.
• Prepare and label locks and keys for assembly and shipment.
• Master keying and pinning the key cylinder.
• Maintain records of locks and keys and read sales orders.
• Test keys for conformance to specifications and inspect work pieces.

Job Summary

The Production Keying Specialist I will work under the direct supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor. Will work as part of a team having responsibility for the set up and operation of machines to cut and copy keys to meet business expectations and assemble locks per sales order requirements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

(10%) Set up/Operate machines to cut and copy keys.

(10%) Disassemble locks and replace tumblers, springs, and other parts.

(10%) Lock and cylinder preparation, assemble and disassemble locks.

(10%) Master keying function, pinning the key cylinder.

(10%) Package finished products and prepare them for shipment, including labelling of product

(10%) Maintain accurate records of company locks and keys.

(10%) Read sales orders to understand customer requirements for keys and locks.

(10%) Maintain, test and adjust equipment as necessary

(10%) Observe and adhere to safety rules and practices.

(10%) Test completed keys to verify conformance to specifications and examine completed work pieces for defects.

Other relevant tasks as assigned by Manager / Supervisor.

Education and Experience Profile

HS Diploma or GED is required

Required Skills

1-2 years experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is required .

Excellent hand/eye coordination with the ability to handle small parts.

Must be able to work in a team environment as well as work independently.

Working conditions are normal for a non-climate controlled warehouse environment.

Frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, pulling, reaching, and stooping.

Must observe and adhere to all safety rules and practices, including PPE requirements.
