Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems AB in Houston, TX is seeking a Keying Specialist I for a temporary position on first shift (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM). You will operate machines to cut and copy keys, assemble locks per sales orders, and help ensure timely shipments.

Qualified candidates have a HS diploma or GED and 1-2 years in manufacturing or an industrial environment. Strong hand-eye coordination and ability to work both in a team and independently are essential.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED is required.
• 1-2 years experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is required.
• Excellent hand/eye coordination with the ability to handle small parts.
• Retail experience in a hardware or keying environment is a plus.
• Must be able to work in a team environment as well as work independently.

Responsibilities

• Set up/Operate machines to cut and copy keys.
• Disassemble locks and replace tumblers, springs, and other parts.
• Lock and cylinder preparation, assemble and disassemble locks.
• Master keying function, pinning the key cylinder.
• Package finished products and prepare them for shipment, including labelling of product.
• Maintain accurate records of company locks and keys.
• Read sales orders to understand customer requirements for keys and locks.
• Maintain, test and adjust equipment as necessary.
• Observe and adhere to safety rules and practices.
• Test completed keys to verify conformance to specifications and examine completed work pieces for defects.

# Keying Specialist (Temp)**TEMPORARY POSITION*** 1st shift (6:00 A - 2:30 P)* Monday thru Friday* Potential for full-time hire with benefits* Must be at least 18 years old**Job Summary**The Production Keying Specialist I will work under the direct supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor.
