Hardware Sales Inc in Bellingham, WA is seeking a skilled Retail Sales - Key Cutter to join our team as the primary key cutter and department lead. You will cut keys, program key fobs, oversee knife and glove inventory, and provide expert customer service.

You will learn knife sharpening techniques, manage inventory, coordinate with vendors, and maintain department displays. This full-time day-shift role emphasizes accuracy and teamwork in a busy hardware store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in hardware retail preferred.
• Experience in key cutting or inventory management preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to operate key-cutting and knife-sharpening equipment.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and perform daily movements.

Responsibilities

• Key Cutting & Fob Programming: Serve as the primary key cutter for the store, cutting and duplicating various key types and programming key fobs.
• Knife & Glove Department Oversight: Manage knife inventory, display, and sharpening; oversee glove inventory and stocking.
• Sales and Customer Assistance: Greet customers and assist in selecting keys, fobs, knives, or gloves; provide product knowledge and safety guidance.
• Inventory Management & Vendor Coordination: Track inventory levels, restock, and coordinate with vendors for orders and deliveries.
• Floor Merchandising & Display: Ensure displays are attractive, organized, and accurately priced; keep the sales floor inviting.
• Teamwork: Collaborate with other departments and report needs or improvements to management.
