Job description

The Production Specialist will work under the direct supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor. Will work as part of a team having responsibility for the set up and operation of machines to cut and copy keys to meet business expectations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

1. (15%) Set up/Operate machines to cut and copy keys.
2. (15%) Disassemble locks and replace tumblers, springs, and other parts.
3. (15%) Lock and cylinder preparation, assemble and disassemble locks.
4. (15%) Master keying function, pinning the key cylinder.
5. (10%) Package finished products and prepare them for shipment, including labeling of product.
6. (5%) Maintain accurate records of company locks and keys.
7. (5%) Read sales orders to understand customer requirements for keys and locks.
8. (5%) Maintain, test and adjust equipment as necessary.
9. (5%) Observe and adhere to safety rules and practices.
10. (5%) Test completed keys to verify conformance to specifications and examine completed work pieces for defects.
11. (5%) Participate in weekly cycle counts and physical inventory.
12. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Profile

1. HS Diploma or GED is required.

Required Skills

1. 1-2 years experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is preferable.
2. Experience with small part assembly.
3. Excellent hand/eye coordination with the ability to handle small parts.
4. Prior experience operating a forklift a plus.
5. Must be able to work in a team environment as well as work independently.
6. Working conditions are normal for a non-climate controlled warehouse environment.
7. Frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
8. Must observe and adhere to all safety rules and practices, including PPE requirements.
