Key Account Manager - Data Centers

Reporting to: Account Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will implement the global solutions strategy to drive increased sales, market share, and customer satisfaction in the assigned sub-segment. The Key Account Manager will collaborate with local and global marketing and sales teams across all ABB Businesses and EL Business Lines. The 'Solutions' approach to account management applies to industries with significant potential to address a wider ABB portfolio through closer alignment.

Work model: Remote

This role contributes to the Electrification Distribution Solutions division. You will be mainly accountable for:

  1. Generating new business, increasing ABB market share, and exceeding target sales figures with profitable growth for the ABB Group Data Center portfolio in the assigned sub-segment.
  2. Managing and taking ownership of assigned customers across all product lines, including orders, forecasting, and issue resolution.
  3. Engaging with colleagues, including global, regional, and country segment leads, to develop and deliver action plans that secure new and existing opportunities.
  4. Collaborating with Product Managers, holding training seminars, and other events to promote ABB Solutions in the assigned sub-segment through internal sales, channel partners, consultants, contractors, OEMs, and end-users.

Qualifications for the role
  • 4-year university degree in an engineering discipline. Others considered based on experience.
  • 5+ years experience working with relevant consultants, contractors, distributors, and industry users at a senior level in data centers, critical power, power quality, or related industries.
  • Experienced in consultative technical sales with a sales cycle of over 12 months.
  • Attention to detail, self-starter, proactive, quick learner, good interpersonal skills, and result-oriented.
  • Willing to travel within the United States and overseas up to 50% of the time.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Salesforce.com.
