Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking a Key Account Manager to lead hospital-based launches of innovative therapies across institutional accounts, including IDNs and infusion sites. You will educate clinicians on clinical benefits to improve formulary access and drive product pull-through in the hospital ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 7+ years related pharmaceutical sales/marketing/training experience.
  • 3+ years in an account selling role in a hospital/account ecosystem.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Travel as needed for key relationships and meetings/conferences.
  • Preferred: Buy/Bill and Home Infusion experience; Acute Care/Infectious Disease/Hemodialysis hospital experience.

Responsibilities

  • Increase product access and sales via institutional formulary approval and education on appropriate use.
  • Secure protocol placement and ensure products are in EMR systems.
  • Build relationships with infusion sites, LTACHs, and home infusion companies.
  • Develop territory/account plans to grow utilization, formulary access, and the customer base.
  • Align solutions, messaging, and stakeholders to maximize account performance.
  • Maintain relationships with opinion leaders and hospital stakeholders (physicians, medical staff, pharmacies).
  • Plan and implement hospital-oriented education forums.
  • Partner with treatment committees to include products in disease state protocols.
  • Support continuity of care via discharge protocol/order inclusion and approved reimbursement resource alignment.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Medical Affairs, National Accounts, Marketing, and Sales Administration.

Job description

POSITION

The Key Account Manager (KAM) is a hospital-based or integrated sites of care-based role focused on launching and selling innovative products in assigned institutional accounts (including IDNs and alternate infusion sites). The KAM educates clinicians on clinical benefits to improve institutional formulary access and expand appropriate utilization through protocol adoption. The role ensures pull-through of contracts and supports account and clinician access. KAMs follow the hospitalized patient journey and call LTACHs and home infusion companies as needed. May also call on infusion centers outside the hospital and open infusion sites; includes Baltimore, MD territory.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
  • Hospital-environment sales track record in assigned territory.
  • Acute care or integrated sites of care sales experience.
  • Ability to create alternate sites of care.
  • Experience selling in a buy-and-bill market.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute new product launches.
  • Self-starter; works well independently and in a team; handles shifting priorities.
  • Strong project management; ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Continuous learning mindset; works in a matrix environment.
  • Strong relationship-building and technical product knowledge.
  • Willingness to meet credentialing requirements (immunization proof, negative TB test, etc.).
QUALIFICATIONS
