Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics seeks a detail-oriented Key Account Manager to expand product access within Columbus, OH hospitals and infusion networks. You will navigate formulary approvals, educate clinicians on product use, and secure placement in EMR and discharge protocols to support patient care.

You will build relationships with LTACHs, infusion centers, and hospital committees while coordinating with Sales, Medical Affairs, and Marketing on pull-through initiatives.

Key Account Manager (KAM) — Columbus, OH (field-based)
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Increase product access and sales by navigating the institutional formulary approval process and educating customers on appropriate product use.
  • Secure product placement on appropriate account protocols and ensure products are in EMR systems.
  • Develop relationships with local infusion sites, LTACHs, and home infusion companies.
  • Create territory and account-level plans to grow utilization, formulary access, and expand the customer base.
  • Maximize account performance by aligning solutions, messaging, and stakeholders to customer treatment goals.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with customer opinion leaders and hospitals (physicians, medical staff, pharmacies).
  • Plan and implement hospital-oriented education forums.
  • Partner with hospital treatment committees to include products on appropriate disease-state protocols.
  • Facilitate continuity of care by including products on discharge protocols/orders and aligning with reimbursement resources.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Medical Affairs, National Accounts, Marketing, and Sales Administration on pull-through initiatives and formulary changes.
Skills & Requirements (including required/preferred):
  • Proven hospital-environment sales track record in the assigned territory.
  • Recent acute care hospital or integrated sites of care sales experience.
  • Ability to create alternate sites of care.
  • Understanding of buy-and-bill market; successful new product/solution launch in a hospital/account setting.
  • Self-starter; able to work independently and in a team under shifting priorities.
  • Strong project management, prioritization, and multitasking.
  • Ability to learn technical product knowledge.
  • Willingness to provide proof of childhood immunizations, a negative TB test, and other credentialing requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 7+ years related pharmaceutical sales/marketing/training experience.
  • 3+ years in an account selling role in a hospital/account ecosystem.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; travel as needed.
  • Preferred: Buy/Bill and Home Infusion experience; acute care/infectious disease/hemodialysis hospital experience.
