Job summary

Salvation Army is seeking a Seasonal Full-Time coordinator in Chatham County to recruit, train, and supervise kettle staff across multiple sites. You will plan routes, manage events, and liaise with community groups to meet kettle goals.

You will drive Salvation Army vehicles to locations, ensure staff coverage, and maintain accurate records of hours and funds. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• One year of kettle fundraising experience preferred.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Interviews, recruits, screens and selects bell ringing staff to ensure all sites are covered effectively.
• Plans, schedules, and assigns work; instructs staff and verifies progress for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintains contact with staff to address questions or problems; recognises workers by mail, in person or by phone.
• Prepares and maintains records and databases for daily kettle income and prepares reports on the kettle program.
• Plans and coordinates special events; prepares plaques and certificates of recognition and maintains event records.
• Meets with community leaders to discuss Salvation Army needs.
• Develops driver routes for kettles and workers; ensures proper drop-off and pick-up.
• Drives Salvation Army vehicle(s) to deliver and collect kettles and supplies.
• Assists with counting, recording, and depositing kettle funds.

Location: Chatham County Service Unit - Siler City, NCPosition Type: Seasonal Full TimeAbout this opportunity: Recruits, trains, coordinates, and monitors the work of employee bell ringers ensuring ample staff to meet location needs; prepares records and reports regarding the same; drives Salvation Army vehicle to drive kettle workers to and from locations and/or pick up kettles.Key Responsibilities:Interviews, recruits, screens and selection of bell ringing staff ensuring all sites are covered effectively.Plans, schedules, and assigns work of staff; instructs in proper methods and procedures; checks and approves work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy and completeness as well as compliance with Salvation Army policies and procedures.Maintains contact with staff throughout their service; answers questions, concerns or problems; recognizes workers through correspondence by mail, in person or by phone.Prepares and maintains up-to-date records and databases for daily kettle income information; prepares reports regarding the status of the kettle program; provides staff with documentation of the hours worked.Plans, coordinates, and prepares special events; prepares plaques and certificates of recognition; prepares and maintains special event records for future reference.Meets with community leaders and organizations and discusses Salvation Army needs.Develops the driver routes for the pick and delivery of kettles and kettle workers; ensures all kettle workers are dropped off and picked up at the kettle location to which they are assigned according to the schedule.Drives Salvation Army vehicle(s) to deliver and collect kettles and supplies to kettle locations and workers.Assists with counting, recording, and depositing of kettle fundsWhat we are looking for in you:Education and Experience:High School or G.E.D.ANDone year experience working with kettle fund raising programs preferredORany equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Valid Driver’s License
