Job summary

Pet Vet Hospital and Wellness Center in Spokane Valley, WA seeks a Veterinary Kennel Assistant to join our team. You will focus on janitorial and housekeeping duties, ensuring kennels, common areas and treatment spaces are sanitized and well stocked.

This role is ideal for self-driven, detail-oriented individuals who enjoy cleaning and organizing and want to contribute to a supportive team. Prior veterinary experience isn’t required, but reliability and a genuine passion for animal care are

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a veterinary kennel assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial and housekeeping duties to keep kennels and treatment areas clean.
• Sanitize kennels, common areas, and treatment spaces; restock supplies.

• Assist with basic animal handling under supervision as needed.

Job description

Pet Vet Hospital and Wellness Center is seeking a Veterinary Kennel Assistant to join our team! Our Kennel team is dedicated to maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients, clients, and staff.

In this role, you will focus on janitorial and housekeeping duties, ensuring kennels, commonspacesand treatment areas are sanitized and well stocked with supplies. This position is ideal for those who are self-driven, detail-oriented, enjoy cleaning and organization, and are committed to contributing to a team-focused environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who may not have prior veterinary experience but are excited about the industry. Candidates must be reliable, friendly, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $17.13- 18.00 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a part- time position, with a flexibleschedule and availability needed Monday - Saturday.

• 1+ years of experience as a veterinary kennel assistant / kennel technician preferred
  • Will consider related experience within animal care such as boarding / doggy daycare attendant, FFA or 4H background
• A genuine passion for animal care and patient wellbeing
• Confidence working with dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
  • Ability to safely handle, restrain, walk, and monitor animals under supervision
  • Strong awareness of animal behavior and willingness to learn patient safety and handling techniques
• Dependability and attention to detailA positive, team-oriented attitude
• Physical ability to meet the demands of a hands-on animal care role
• Strong observational skills and willingness to communicate patient concerns to the veterinary team
• Interest in learning and growing within the veterinary profession
