The Whole Pet Vet Hospital & Wellness Center in Los Gatos, CA is seeking a Kennel Assistant to join our veterinary team. This role focuses on patient husbandry and care, plus general housekeeping across the hospital.

You’ll feed, walk boarding animals, administer medication, and monitor for medical or behavioral concerns while documenting observations. Ideal candidates are self-driven, detail-oriented, and committed to a long-term career in veterinary medicine.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a veterinary kennel assistant / kennel technician is preferred.
• Confidence working with dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments.
• Ability to safely handle, restrain, walk, and monitor animals under supervision.
• Strong observational skills and willingness to communicate patient concerns to the veterinary team.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Whole Pet Vet Hospital & Wellness Center is seeking aKennel Assistant to join our team! Our Kennel team is dedicated to the care and comfort of our patients while providing critical support to the veterinary team.

In this role, you will focus on patient husbandry and care as well as general housekeeping duties throughout the hospital. You will provide meals and walks to boarding patients, administer medication, and monitor for any medical or behavioral concerns while providing detailed documentation about your observations. You will ensure kennels, common spaces and treatment areas are sanitized and well stocked with supplies. You will also have the opportunity to assist the medical team as needed with patient care.

This position is ideal for those who are self-driven, detail-oriented, and interested in a long-term career working in veterinary medicine.

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $ 18 - $22 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a full-time position with a 5/8 schedule and availability needed Monday through Friday. Shifts are typically scheduled from 9am-6pm or 10am-7pm with a 1 hour lunch.
