Job summary

Medford Animal Hospital in Medford, Oregon, seeks a Kennel Assistant to join our team. The role focuses on cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.

You will support the veterinary team and ensure kennels and treatment areas are stocked and tidy. This part-time position offers an hourly pay of $16–$18 with shifts primarily 10 hours, Monday through Saturday, and Sunday availability required in certain blocks.

Qualifications

• Experience as kennel assistant/kennel technician preferred.
• Related experience in animal care such as boarding or doggy daycare is acceptable.
• Confident working with dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments.
• Ability to safely handle, restrain, walk and monitor animals under supervision.
• Strong work ethic with initiative and reliability.
• Ability to stay organized and maintain a clean, safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Janitorial and housekeeping duties to keep kennels clean and safe.
• Sanitize kennels, treatment areas and common spaces; restock supplies.
• Maintain equipment and ensure areas are well organized.

Job description

Medford Animal Hospital is seeking a Kennel Assistant to join our team! Our Kennel staff is dedicated to maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients, clients, and staff.

In this role, you will focus on janitorial and housekeeping duties, ensuring kennels, commonspacesand treatment areas are sanitized and well stocked with supplies. This position is ideal for those who are self-driven, detail-oriented, enjoy cleaning and organization, and are committed to contributing to a team-focused environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who may not have prior veterinary experience but are excited about the industry. Candidates must be reliable, friendly, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $ 16 - $18 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a part-time position with a 10-hour shifts scheduled between Monday and Saturday. Sunday availibility is required from 7am-12pm and 4pm-8pm.

• Previous experience as a veterinary kennel assistant / kennel technician preferred
• Will consider related experience within animal care such as boarding / doggy daycare attendant, FFA or 4H background
• Confidence working with dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
• Ability to safely handle, restrain, walk, and monitor animals under supervision
• Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative
• Ability to stay organized and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Physical ability to meet the demands of a hands‑on animal care role
• Strong observational skills and willingness to communicate patient concerns to the veterinary team
• Interest in learning and growing within the veterinary profession
