The Whole Pet Vet Hospital & Wellness Center in Los Gatos, CA is seeking a Kennel Assistant to join our team and support the veterinary staff. You will focus on patient husbandry and care, housekeeping, meals and walks for boarding patients, and monitoring for medical or behavioral concerns with detailed notes.

Ideal candidates are self-driven, detail-oriented, and志 interested in a long-term career in veterinary medicine.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a veterinary kennel assistant / kennel technician is preferred
• Genuine passion for animal care and patient wellbeing
• Interest in learning and growing within the veterinary profession
• Confidence working with dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
• Ability to safely handle, restrain, walk, and monitor animals under supervision

Responsibilities

• Provide patient husbandry and care throughout the hospital
• Perform general housekeeping duties to keep kennels and treatment areas clean
• Provide meals and walks to boarding patients
• Administer medication as directed and monitor for concerns
• Maintain detailed documentation of observations and care
• Sanitize kennels, common spaces and treatment areas and keep stocked
• Assist the medical team with patient care when needed

Job description

The Whole Pet Vet Hospital & Wellness Center is seeking aKennel Assistant to join our team! Our Kennel team is dedicated to the care and comfort of our patients while providing critical support to the veterinary team.

In this role, you will focus on patient husbandry and care as well as general housekeeping duties throughout the hospital. You will provide meals and walks to boarding patients, administer medication, and monitor for any medical or behavioral concerns while providing detailed documentation about your observations. You will ensure kennels, common spaces and treatment areas are sanitized and well stocked with supplies. You will also have the opportunity to assist the medical team as needed with patient care.

This position is ideal for those who are self-driven, detail-oriented, and interested in a long-term career working in veterinary medicine.

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $ 18 - $22 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a full-time position with a 5/8 schedule and availability needed Monday through Friday. Shifts are typically scheduled from 9am-6pm or 10am-7pm with a 1 hour lunch.
