Job summary

National Veterinary Associates is seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our team. The role involves caring for dogs and other pets, maintaining clean kennels, and assisting veterinarians as needed.

Hours are 11am to 7pm, Monday through Friday, with a focus on compassionate animal care and customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience in animal care or handling, familiarity with veterinary practices, and the ability to lift and move animals or equipment as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in animal care or handling preferred; kennel experience a plus.
• Familiarity with veterinary practices is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with pet owners.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs and other pets.
• Maintain utmost cleanliness in kennels, treatment areas, and throughout the hospital to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
• Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff or management.
• Handle animals with care and restraint during grooming or veterinary procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets' needs and behaviors.
• Assist in administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments or managing records as required.
