Job summary

NVA General Practice is seeking a Kennel Assistant to join our veterinary team in a fast-paced, animal-centered setting. You will provide daily care for hospitalized pets, monitor wellbeing, and help keep the hospital clean and organized.

Responsibilities include assisting with restraint and basic care, handling dogs and cats of various temperaments, and ensuring compassionate, attentive care during stays. Training is available for the right candidate; prior animal experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • A genuine love for animals and a strong commitment to their well-being.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and cleaning.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Previous experience working with animals is preferred but not required—we're happy to train the right candidate!

As a Kennel Assistant, you'll play an important role in providing exceptional care to our patients while helping keep our hospital clean, organized, and running smoothly.
