Procom seeks a kdb+/q Developer to own and evolve a real-time and historical market data infrastructure for an ETF trading desk. You will migrate the OneTick estate to kdb+ tick architecture and build scalable data pipelines used by traders and quants.

You will architect the tick stack, manage backups, deployments, and incident responses while collaborating closely with front-office users to translate requirements into robust, maintainable q code.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of production kdb+/q experience in trading infrastructure.
  • Deep understanding of memory model and IPC.
  • Strong knowledge of tick architecture: tickerplant/RDB/HDB, feedhandlers, gateways.
  • Proficient in testing, modular design, code review, and documentation.
  • Strong Linux and bash; comfortable with OS-level debugging and production runs.
  • Solid SDLC discipline and Git proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, extend, and harden the kdb+ tick stack: tickerplant, RDB, HDB, gateways, and feedhandlers.
  • Lead migration from OneTick to kdb+: data model, historical backfill, feed cutover, user migration, and decommissioning.
  • Maintain and extend feedhandlers for data vendors and internal fair-value feeds.
  • Own the fair value/pricing data pipeline and the analytics that sit on top of it.
  • Design and operate a multi-terabyte HDB at ~100 GB/day.

kdb+/q Developer — Trading Data Infrastructure:On behalf of our finance client, Procom is searching for a kdb+/q Developer — Trading Data Infrastructure for a contract role. This position is a remote position with the client’s New York, New York office.kdb+/q Developer — Trading Data Infrastructure - Job Description:This role involves taking ownership of an early-stage kdb+ platform, which is about a year old. The developer will be responsible for building and running the real-time and historical market data infrastructure for the fixed income ETF desk and other trading groups.
