Job summary

Releady is building out the kdb+/q platform for fixed income ETF desks, taking ownership of real-time and historical data infrastructure and migrating OneTick estate onto the kdb+ tick architecture.

As a full-stack kdb+/q developer, you will design, operate, and optimize tickerplant, RDB, HDB, gateways, and feedhandlers, collaborating with quants and traders to deliver scalable, reliable pricing data and analytics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production experience with kdb+/q in financial trading infrastructure.
• Deep understanding of kdb+/q language, IPC, memory model, and performance optimization at scale.
• Strong software development foundation: testing, modular design, code reviews, and documentation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of tick architecture: tickerplant, RDB, HDB, gateways, entitlements, and log replay.
• Ability to write clean, well-structured, and maintainable q code with emphasis on quality.
• Proficient with Git and understanding of the SDLC.
• Strong Linux and bash skills for running production processes and OS-level debugging.
• Experience collaborating with front-office traders under time pressure.
• Ownership mindset for end-to-end platform ownership.

Responsibilities

• Architect, extend, and harden the kdb+ tick stack, including tickerplant, RDB, HDB, gateways, and feedhandlers.
• Lead the migration from OneTick to kdb+, focusing on data model, historical backfill, feed cutover, user migration, and decommissioning.
• Maintain and extend feedhandlers for market data vendors and internal feeds.
• Own the fair value and pricing data pipeline, along with supporting analytics.
• Design and operate a multi-terabyte HDB with partitioning, symbol management, compression, and load balancing.
• Collaborate with traders and quants to gather requirements, prototype solutions, and translate desk inquiries into q code.
• Oversee release and deployment processes for the platform.
• Provide production support including incident response and root-cause analysis.
• Establish standards for code quality, testing, and documentation across the q codebase.
