A global financial markets technology and analytics organization supporting institutional investors with mission-critical trading, data, and execution analytics platforms. Its multi-asset transaction cost analysis platform processes over one billion market data updates per day and has been recognized by major industry awards for TCA and FX execution technology.

Role Overview

An experienced senior kdb developer is needed to design, build, and optimize high-performance data platforms supporting multi-asset analytics capabilities. This role focuses on kdb+ tick architectures, large-scale performance tuning, and close collaboration with quantitative and engineering teams to deliver robust, efficient, and maintainable solutions for real-time and historical market data workloads.

What You'll Do
  • Design and develop key components of a multi-asset analytics platform, including kdb+ tick systems with careful consideration for data organization, schema design, and architectural trade-offs.
  • Build and operate systems that process large-scale, high-frequency datasets while ensuring low latency, high throughput, and efficient memory utilization.
  • Analyze and optimize q queries, data models, and ingestion pipelines for real-time and historical workloads.
  • Apply modern Agile development practices across cloud-based, server-side, and database-driven systems.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Transaction Cost Analysis and key regulatory benchmarks required for MiFID and MiFIR.
  • Take ownership of deliverables from design through production, promoting clean code standards, sound design patterns, and engineering best practices.
  • Champion Test-Driven Development and shift-left practices to support effective CI/CD pipelines.
Who You Are
  • 5+ years of hands-on kdb+ development experience, with strong expertise in kdb+/q and Python.
  • Experienced with kdb+ tick architectures, production-scale data platforms, large-scale performance tuning, and high-frequency data processing.
  • Proficient with modern data science toolchains such as Jupyter, pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn, with applied machine-learning experience.
  • Comfortable with parallel computing frameworks such as Slurm or equivalent technologies.
  • Strong background in quantitative analysis, including mathematical modeling, statistics, regression, and probability theory.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related STEM discipline from a top-ranked university.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and/or other modern cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Domain knowledge in FX, Fixed Income, Equities, or Equity Derivatives is a plus.
  • Exposure to modern JavaScript build toolchains such as Node.js, npm, Rush, Yarn, Webpack, Babel, and Cypress is a plus.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Compensation

Salary: $125,000 - $225,000 per year
