Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Systems Administrator 2 (Linux) to support the PMRF networks on Kauai, HI. You will manage Red Hat Linux environments, apply security controls, patch systems, and automate tasks to support a live mission environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining VM infrastructure, assisting cybersecurity teams, and developing system documentation. Travel to site and occasional at-sea duties are possible as part of the role, with Top Secret clearance required.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of specialized Linux system administration.
• VMware/Nutanix certification.
• DODI 8570.1M IAT Level II requirement.
• RHCSA or Linux+ certification required.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Red Hat Linux (RHEL) environments across Navy networks.
• Implement RMF security controls and ensure DISA STIGs compliance.
• Apply patches per Navy/DoW policies and manage imaging (SCCM, VMware, Satellite, Ansible).
• Develop automation using PowerShell, Bash, and Python.
• Support virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and manage lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams on ATO/POA&Ms/audit readiness.
• Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and baselines.
• Lead incident response and disaster recovery planning.
