Job summary

Parker Core Knowledge (PCK) invites qualified candidates to join our team as a K-8 Substitute Teacher. You will implement teacher plans for K-8 students and help maintain an engaging, orderly classroom from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on school days.

The role emphasizes strong classroom management, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to work within our Core Knowledge curriculum. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred; non-degreed applicants may be considered based on experience.
• Colorado teaching certificate or substitute license preferred.
• Prior teaching/classroom experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in the absence of the teacher to aid students in understanding content/subject matter.
• Follow procedures, lesson plans and curriculum as designated by the classroom teacher.
• Utilize classroom management skills to maintain a productive, healthy learning environment.
• Enforce and comply with administration policies, rules and safety procedures.
• Use computers, audiovisual aids, and other equipment and materials to supplement teaching.
• Maintain confidentiality per FERPA.
• Oversee students outside of the classroom including in the hallways and cafeteria.
• Take attendance and document daily notes.
• Ensure the classroom is kept clean and orderly.
• Create a summary of the day for the teacher for when he/she returns.
