Responsibilities

• Plan inclusion models including co-teaching, push-in supports, and standalone instruction.
• Use district technology and virtual curricula to create engaging lessons linked with 21st Century skills.
• Manage classroom behavior with Positive Behavior Interventions to motivate students and minimize disruptions.
• Utilize SEI strategies for English Learners on IEPs.
• Incorporate language activities into content instruction aligning with State Standards for Language Proficiency.
• Use available data to tailor instruction to students’ academic and linguistic needs.
• Collaborate with grade-level content teachers to support Special Education Students at K-8.
• Proctor assessments and provide accommodations for students in exams including MCAS and ACCESS.
• Communicate with families regularly using culturally responsive strategies for two-way conversations.
• Engage in professional development to address urban education challenges and close opportunity gaps.
• Collaborate with guidance counselors to refer students needing Social Emotional support.
• Review IEPs with leadership and teachers to ensure accommodations are delivered properly.
• Prepare IEP reports and progress documentation as required by the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
• Develop, revise, and track progress toward IEP goals for Special Education Students.
