Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or related field.
• Massachusetts teaching licensure - Moderate Disabilities PreK-8.
• SEI Endorsement.
• Ability to supervise educational assistants.
• Ability to acquire and maintain physical intervention and de-escalation certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides research-based specialized instruction addressing IEP goals.
• Assesses students' academic needs and reports assessment results.
• Leads development of individual education plans in team settings.
• Plans and teaches curriculum aligned to Common Core and developmentally appropriate middle school standards.
• Supports students in general and small group settings per IEP services.
• Coordinates with OT/SLP/PT/BCBA and other specialists.
• Communicates progress with families and at conferences.
