Job summary

ACCEL Schools LLC is hiring a Special Education Speech-Language Pathologist at Barber Preparatory Academy in Highland Park, Michigan to provide comprehensive services to PK-8 students. The SLP will evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication disorders while collaborating with IEP teams to support student learning and social-emotional development.

The position requires a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, Michigan licensure, and a team-oriented, data-driven approach within a public charter

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program.
• Michigan state licenses approved by LARA.
• Comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to pass federal and state background checks.
• Experience in a multi-cultural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality speech-language therapy services to PK-8 students in Highland Park, MI.
• Conduct standard and non-standardized assessments, analyze results and write reports.
• Develop strength-based, family-centered treatment plans.
• Ensure IEP, Evaluation and progress monitoring procedures adhere to guidelines.
• Collect ongoing data and adapt treatment based on trends.
• Attend IEP and Evaluation meetings and provide necessary documentation.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and the education team.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Common Core Standards and align with treatment objectives.
• Develop and communicate daily schedules to building leaders.
• Attend staff meetings and pursue professional development for licensure.
• Facilitate effective student communication across all modes of language.
• Participate in building-based intervention processes.
• Develop functional use of district software for compliance reporting.
