Qualifications

• Must hold a Colorado RN license.
• Must obtain a Special Service Provider License with School Nurse Endorsement from CDE.
• Active DORA license to practice in Colorado required for multi-state nurses.

Responsibilities

• Direct student care: administer medications, first aid, emergency care for chronic conditions.
• Train and supervise unlicensed assistive personnel (UAP) during field trips and health services.
• Perform vision, hearing, and other health screenings; refer as needed.
• Maintain student health and immunization records.
• Communicate with parents, teachers, and health professionals to ensure appropriate care.
• Provide health education to students and staff and implement health policies.
• Participate in emergency planning and training.
• Serve as liaison with families and community health providers.
