Job summary

ACCEL Schools is hiring a Special Education Speech-Language Pathologist for Barber Preparatory Academy in Highland Park, MI. You will evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication disorders within the school setting, collaborating with families and education teams to develop IEPs and promote student progress.

You will conduct assessments, write reports, develop strength-based treatment plans, and ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines while engaging in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current Michigan Speech-Language Pathologist license issued by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA).
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality speech-language therapy services to a wide variety of students in grades K-8 in Highland Park, MI
• Conduct standard and non-standardized assessments, analyze results and write reports to determine strengths and concerns in motor speech, voice, fluency, pragmatics, language, literacy, and dysphagia
• Develop treatment plans that are strength based as well as child and family centered
• Ensure that IEP, Evaluation and progress monitoring procedures adhere to district, state and federal guidelines
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and all other members of a student’s educational team
• Attend IEP and Evaluation meetings and provide necessary documentation for team to review in a timely manner
