Job summary

ACCEL Schools LLC is hiring a Special Education Speech-Language Pathologist for Barber Preparatory Academy in Highland Park, Michigan. The SLP will evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication disorders within the school setting and collaborate to design effective IEPs that foster learning and social-emotional growth.

The role involves conducting assessments, developing plans, and maintaining documentation in compliance with district and state requirements while supporting students from PK-8.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current Michigan Speech-Language Pathologist license issued by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA).
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred but not required, unless required by the district or position.
• Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education compliance preferred.
• Experience providing speech-language evaluations, developing treatment plans, and delivering therapy services to school-age students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality speech-language therapy services to students in grades K-8 in Highland Park, MI.
• Conduct assessments, analyze results, and write reports on communication disorders impacting education.
• Develop treatment plans that are child- and family-centered and strength-based.
• Ensure IEP, evaluation and progress monitoring adhere to guidelines.
• Collaborate with teachers and multidisciplinary teams for student support.
