Job summary

National Heritage Academies seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to collaborate with special education and general education staff to support students with speech and language needs. The SLP will conduct evaluations, develop goals, and provide services through various models at our Grand Rapids area service center.

The role emphasizes IEP participation, progress monitoring, and coordination with families and teachers to ensure accurate implementation of communication strategies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC–ASHA) required.
• Experience with at-risk student populations preferred.
• Familiarity with IEP development, special education compliance, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with administrators and staff on service schedules and IEP meetings.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions and eligibility determinations.
• Conduct speech-language evaluations and contribute to assessment planning.
• Develop and monitor individualized SLP goals aligned with IEPs.
• Provide specially designed instruction to support communication needs.
• Document service delivery, progress notes, and required compliance records.
• Consult with teachers and families to ensure carryover of communication strategies.
• Maintain accurate records and participate in ongoing supervision as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
