Job summary

Berwyn North School District 98 is seeking a paraeducator to support elementary and middle school teachers at Havlicek Elementary School. You will assist with instruction, classroom management and student needs, contributing to a positive learning environment.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate degree or 60 semester hours (Bachelor’s preferred) and IL ELS-PARA or equivalent licensure. Experience with students, strong communication, and willingness to work with diverse populations are

Qualifications

• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient use of technology (computer, IPads, copy machine, etc).
• Prior experience working with children/adolescents.
• Ability to read, write, and speak proficiently in English.
• Spanish language ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in instruction and classroom management.
• Lead small group discussions to reinforce learning.
• Translate information from teacher to students for comprehension.
• Organize classroom materials and maintain order.
• Attend to students' physical, personal, academic and emotional needs.
• Provide clerical support including attendance, grading tests and homework.
