Job summary

KIPP Memphis is seeking a K–8 Math Director to drive math achievement across all campuses. This role sets vision for rigorous instruction, builds teacher capacity, and ensures data, curriculum, and interventions align to accelerate student learning.

The director will partner with academics, coaches, and leadership to ensure access to excellent math instruction, especially for students needing additional support, across the Memphis network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience with strong math results.
• Experience coaching or leading adults (teachers, coaches, instructional leaders).
• Secondary-space teaching/leading experience strongly preferred.
• Deep knowledge of K–8 math content and standards-aligned practices.
• Experience using student data to drive instructional decisions.

Responsibilities

• Coach teachers and instructional leaders on rigorous math practices and standards-aligned strategies.
• Model lessons, co-plan, and provide actionable feedback across campuses.
• Develop coaching skills of school leaders to support math instruction.
• Support high-quality curriculum implementation across K–8 campuses.
• Lead data-driven planning cycles, data days, and reteach/reassessment cycles.
• Monitor assessment results and intervention effectiveness; support MTSS/RTI coordination.
• Design professional learning aligned to standards and goals; stay current with TN math standards.
• Collaborate with leaders to set annual math achievement goals and represent math instruction network-wide.
