Job summary

KIPP Memphis is seeking a Literacy Director to lead reading and writing instruction across campuses, driving standards-aligned literacy outcomes and building instructional capacity among teachers and school leaders.

The role centers on aligning curriculum, data, and intervention systems to accelerate literacy progress and readiness for ACT, PreACT, and state assessments, in collaboration with the academics team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in literacy/ELA.
• Experience teaching high school English/literacy.
• Experience coaching or leading adults (teachers/coaches).

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time coaching and instructional modeling.
• Support lesson planning and standards-aligned instruction.
• Analyze student work and data to inform coaching priorities.
• Develop literacy interventions and monitor progress.
• Align instruction to ACT, PreACT, and state assessments.
• Collaborate with school leaders to strengthen literacy network-wide.
