Job summary

KIPP Memphis Public Schools is seeking a K–8 Math Director to lead math instruction across the network’s campuses. This role sets a vision for rigorous standards-aligned math, builds instructional capacity, and ensures data, curriculum, and intervention work together to accelerate student learning.

The role collaborates with school leadership, instructional coaches, and the academics team to provide access to excellent math instruction, especially for students needing additional support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in mathematics.
• Experience coaching or leading adults (teachers, coaches, or instructional leaders).
• Experience teaching in the secondary space or leading/coaching teachers in a secondary setting preferred.
• Deep knowledge of K–8 math content and standards-aligned instructional practices.
• Experience using student data to drive instructional decisions.

Responsibilities

• Coach teachers and instructional leaders on rigorous math practices and standards-aligned instruction.
• Model lessons, co-plan, and provide real-time feedback to build capacity across campuses.
• Develop the coaching skills of school leaders to support math teachers.
• Support high-quality curriculum implementation with fidelity and responsive adaptations.
• Lead data-driven planning cycles and establish systems to analyze student work and assessment data.
• Monitor intervention effectiveness and align tiered supports with student needs.
