Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Instructional Transformation Coach to support rapid, sustained transformation at a site in need. The coach reports to the school leader and the Executive Director of Professional Learning, providing direct coaching to the principal, leadership team, and teachers.

The role requires 80-90% school-based work focused on teaching and learning quality, with 10-20% for personal professional development and cross-district collaboration under the Academics

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Massachusetts Teaching License in the appropriate content area.
• At least five years of teaching experience with deep knowledge of curriculum, instruction, interventions, and assessments.
• Proven history of success coaching teachers and leading instructional change at schools.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders including staff, families, and community partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional support and technical assistance to teachers and monitor implementation of the instructional focus and expectations.
• Plan lessons and units aligned to curricular best practices.
• Co-teach and model lessons with teachers.
• Provide in-class coaching and feedback, including videotaping and debriefing.
• Assist in planning school-based professional development sessions and study groups.
• Support data-driven decision making and use of assessment results to tailor supports.
• Organize and lead school events with families and community members.
