Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Instructional Coach to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders. This anticipated long-term substitute role starts Oct 2 and ends TBD, with per diem pay. The coach will assist in planning lessons, co-teach, videotape and debrief, and support school-based professional development.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Massachusetts Teaching License in appropriate content area.
• Experience and demonstrated expertise as a teacher and in professional development delivery.
• Strong organizational and facilitation skills.
• Current authorization to work in the United States by start date.

Responsibilities

• Set up effective classroom environments and assist in planning lessons; co-teach and videotape sessions, coach teachers, and plan PD during and after school.
• Assist with mid- and end-of-year assessments; analyze results and respond accordingly.
• Maintain an activity log with objectives, participants, outcomes, next steps, and timelines.
• Monitor teacher progress and participation in professional development; meet with school leaders as needed.
• Participate in weekly coordination meetings and PD opportunities.
• Share leadership for elements of instructional focus and other responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.
