Job summary

Persistence Prep in Buffalo, a new K-8 charter school, seeks a Behavior Intervention Specialist to support scholars with positive behavior supports, coordinate FBAs and BIPs, and promote a safe, productive learning environment.

You will build strong relationships with scholars and families, use data to tailor instruction, and collaborate with the Scholar Support Team to design and evaluate a comprehensive behavior program.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of function-based intervention planning for developing behavior change strategies.
• Experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
• Ability to use assessment data to inform instruction and create work plans for scholars.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse audiences including scholars, families and staff.
• Demonstrated capability to work in an urban elementary setting is valued.

Responsibilities

• Apply positive behavior supports and coordinate FBAs/BIPs for scholars.
• Coordinate school-wide behavior management strategies.
• Build strong relationships with scholars and families.
• Use data to tailor instruction and inform decisions.
• Collaborate with the Scholar Support Team to design and evaluate behavior programs.
• Engage in after-hours events and family education activities as needed.
