Job summary

Deep Roots Charter School is seeking a Behavior Specialist to support a structured, inclusive learning environment. You will implement behavior supports, conduct FBAs, and help staff develop classroom management and PBIS strategies to ensure equitable access to education.

You will collaborate with families, teachers, and outside providers to create individualized plans and monitor progress toward behavioral goals, contributing to a safe, supportive school culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, ABA, Social Work or related field.
• Licensure/certification as LBS or BCBA (or eligibility).
• Experience with FBAs, PBSPs/BIPs, and students with behavioral disabilities preferred.
• Experience in schools or youth-serving orgs; working with behavioral, emotional, or social needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive behavioral support across classrooms and school settings.
• Conduct FBAs for students needing individualized supports.
• Develop, implement, and monitor PBSPs/BIPs for students, including those with IEPs.
• Support development of self-regulation and social-emotional skills.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement PBIS and classroom supports.
• Coordinate with families and outside providers to ensure consistent behavior plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, incidents, and progress.
