Job summary

ASU Preparatory Academy is seeking an ELL Teacher to provide targeted English language instruction aligned with state frameworks. The role emphasizes developing students’ cognitive abilities, motivation, and leadership while communicating with parents about academic progress.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Education, Arizona teaching certification with endorsements, and SL/ELL or SEI certification. Experience with ELL populations and Canvas LMS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or higher.
• Master’s Degree in ESL/ELL Instruction preferred.
• Arizona Teaching Certificate with endorsements as required.
• SL/ELL or SEI certification/endorsement required.
• Experience with English Language Learner populations.
• Experience with Canvas or similar LMS preferred.
• DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (or able to obtain).
• Professional verification of successful classroom performance.

Responsibilities

• Determine instructional techniques and adapt curriculum to meet student needs.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about academics and behavior.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Develop lesson plans and substitute plans aligned to objectives.
• Develop individualized learning plans based on assessments.
• Assess and report student progress and comprehension.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.
• Collaborate to support school program goals.
• Create a conducive classroom atmosphere.
• Additional duties as assigned.
